Diabetes: Avoid the slow killer

What is Diabetes?

To Understand Diabetes, we need to understand the function of our pancreas. The food that we eat is converted to glucose which is converted to energy by our cells. At this point, the pancreas release a hormone called insulin which acts as a catalyst to open up the cells which take in the glucose and process it to provide our body with energy to function.

But with diabetes, this system does not work. With diabetes, the human body does not produce insulin, partially or completely. Thus the sugar keeps accumulating inside your body.

Diabetes is a hugely spread lifestyle disorder. Worldwide, it afflicts more than 380 million people today.

The two main types of diabetes are type 1 diabetes (. insulin-dependent or juvenile onset) and type 2 diabetes (non-insulin-dependent or adult onset diabetes) and the causes for both types are different as are their target ages. Homeopathic diabetes treatment is an upcoming study and is essential to get best results.

Why does it happen?

Both types of diabetes are caused due to very different reasons but both lead to the same anatomy. The basic reason remains lack in production of insulin.

In type 1 diabetes, a condition called autoimmune disease take place. In this, the human's immune system attacks the pancreas' cells which produce the insulin. This is a misdirected attack by our immune system. The triggers for this behavior are still under research with theories like insulin being perceived as an antibody by our body being developed.

Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes and is seen in middle aged adults. Insulin resistance is a condition in which the body’s muscle, fat, and liver cells do not use insulin effectively and is believed to be one of the major causes behind type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes develops when the body can no longer produce enough insulin to compensate for the inability of our body to use insulin.

How to treat it?

As mentioned above, Diabetes is majorly a lifestyle disorder (type 2 precisely). Apart from homeopathic diabetes treatment, making some improvements in your day's schedule can help avoid and, more importantly, manage diabetes.
  • Healthy Diet: Its not just about what you eat but also when you eat it. Manage your diet according to your day's requirement and keep good tab on your blood sugar.
  • Consistent workout schedule: Devise a daily moderate exercise regime. Lack of activity is one of the major reasons behind this disease.
  • Medication or insulin therapy: Worst come scenario, depend on allopathic medicine to provide your body with the required amount of insulin to digest all the glucose.

In addition to these, you can turn to homeopathy for controlling blood sugar. Homeopathy doesn't believe in curing just the disease but the complete human body. It believes that a disease is an indication of some deep rooted ailment and the medication aims to manage many other deep-rooted, chronic, difficult diseases including Diabetes. However, it may be mentioned that there is no substitute to insulin in homeopathy. The role of a healthy diet and exercise cannot be underestimated.
