And just like nature has answers to all our problems, it has ways to relief our stress as well. We just need to find out the right way and utilize nature’s way of helping us with natural stress relief.
• Keeping a check on the food we eat
Food rich in minerals and Vitamin B helps in lowering the stress hormones of the body. Green Leafy vegetables like spinach, cabbage and cauliflower, Whole Grains like rice and oats and Nuts like almonds and walnuts are foods that we should consume regularly as they provide our body with nutrients that are important for stress relief.
Most of us skip our breakfast and just drink a glass of tea or coffee which increases the stress hormones in our body. Proper and timely meals should be consumed.
• Having a Proper Sleep
We often tend to forget that we are human beings and not machines that can run 24*7. It has been seen that improper sleep is one of the most common problem in people suffering from stress. Our body needs atleast8 to 9 hours of proper sleep everyday for it to refresh again. While sleeping, try to stay away from your TV, mobile phones, laptops or any other device that can hinder your sound sleep. It is the best option to naturally relieve stress.
• Physical Exercise
We all try to find reasons to stay away from the playground or the gym. But it is very important for the body to do some regular physical exercise. Most of us have a daily schedule that keeps us seated on a chair in front of a computer. We do work but only mentally, not physically. We need to take out time to exercise daily in any form we want, be it running, cycling, swimming or gaming.
• Relaxing Techniques
Our mind works for the whole day without any break. It thus needs time to relax. Meditation and Yoga helps us relieve muscle tension and makes us mentally and emotionally calm. We can do this at any time, even in our office hours when we have a 5-10 minutes break.
• Doing what you LOVE
We all have hobbies that someway gets sidelined due to our professional or personal commitments, but we need to find out time, maybe on a weekend, to do what we love doing. Spending time with family or going out on a nature walk can help us too.
We need to understand that whatever we do, at the end of the day we need to be happy and have a good laugh. Such moments releases Endorphins in our body that fights stress and can help with natural stress relief.
A little change in our lifestyle can help us fight stress. It is just that one small step we need to take.
